Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med Surg), Acute Care 2 Job Duration: 17 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours Per Week Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Specialty License: Yes Certifications: BLS and NIHSS (Both Must Be AHA) Must-Have: Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Acute Care (MedSurg) Job Description: - The unit comprises 44 beds with a staff of 40 members specializing in Medical Surgical care. - Staffing ratio for nurses is 1:5, possibly 1:6, both day and night shifts. - Nurse Aides/CNAs support with a ratio generally around 1:8 to 1:10; can also be assigned as sitters. - Use of MEDITECH Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is preferred, though not mandatory; orientation and training will be provided. - Shift hours are from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, covering all 12-hour shifts. - Weekend work is required every other week, and holiday shifts are as needed. - Scrub color for this position is Caribbean Blue. - Telemetry is monitored in a different unit. - Floating to all acute care and cardiovascular units is expected to care for medical patients or to the Emergency Care for acute patient holds. - General orientation includes one week of training, covering EMR training and floor-specific orientation over two days.
